Lance, you have actually inspired me to tell the
other toolkit users about a fighting engine I had
thought up of for a game that I have some of the
story for.
Turn a Doom, or Duke Nukem type of game into an RPG.
You can do more damage with weapons (if that makes
no sense, read on) and your amount of life increases
such. I will explain everything.
First off, the game is about a ton of aliens that
land on a world completely inhabited by dinosaurs.
Their weapons are connected through their minds
and muscles, so normal laser shots depend on the
strength of the bearer of the weapon. The connection
through the mind allows the user to cast spells
through his weapon. Next, his life will increase
by increase, as will his defense.
Another thing is that the entire world is the world
map. This means that there are really no mountains,
or break-offs from other areas that protect you from
incredibly strong enemies (like a T.Rex, or
Deinonychus, very simialar but more dangerous than
the common Raptor). You would have to trust on the
speed, agility, or whatever you want to call it
of the character. The higher in level, the better
the chance of running away.
So, what do you guys think? Once I start learning
the C++ programming language my Junior year
(2 god damn years off!) I can start it! If anyone else
wants to try it, be my guest! I doubt this idea is
as cool as Lance's, though.
