I'll tell you why when it crashes the display is messed up. When the toolkit is running in Optimum Resolution, it adjusts you screen accordingly to work (I.E. resolution) correct. When it crashes, it doesn't reset because the command to reset the resolution is in the quit part with the toolkit.
As for the fact that it crashes, it's possbly a Software Conflict. The only thing is to possibly (you don't HAVE to, but...and I even doubt it'll work) format the HD and install the Toolkit right after Windows. If it works, good, then begin installing your apps, after 1 is installed, check the Toolkit, keep on until you are at the position you are now, or you could just see what Chris has to say.
