Java for Immerse is a good idea, in a way...learn Java, and you have the basics of C++ (I think...) but I believe there are some systems without Java support. I know Linux requires add-ons to run Java applications. I learned that when I installed Staroffice (Like MSOffice, but for Linux/Unix, and even Windows) it asked if I had a Java Runtime Environment installed. So in a way, Linux users are in the dumps for some large downloads to get it to work. And worst off, I learned Linux doesn't really support PCI modems (like mine, which is also a WinModem) Only ISA modems, which are outdated in newer computers which are PCI based. There are systems designed for Linux, but I'm blabbing about irrelavent stuff. Back to the topic, not many modems are Linux compatible...and therefor, it would be hard to download the Java Runtime Environment. Look at it this way, I have THE latest version of Mandrake-Linux, and it doesn't have the install package for a Java Runtime Environment (JRE from now on) So in short, C++ would probably be the way to go...but this is MY opinion. *sighs* I typed a lot. Well, I proved Gateway wrong with my format, and uh...they sent me a new one, and a guy is coming this Saturday. Now to download the toolkit again.
