tilesets

All right, i have tried everything
whenever i try to open a tileset, all i get is a
rainbow of verticle lines, i have re-downloaded
toolkit, i have taken .tst files from a friend
that i know work on his computer but i still
get the lines, even with the Default.tst file
that comes with the program gives me these lines,
please anyone got any answers?
